Yes. We design and build custom ramps. The ramps which are produced in our warehouse are the ones you’ll find here on the website. All our Build at Home ramps are pre-cut and pre-drilled and ready for you to assemble. To design a custom ramp would require one of our draftsmen to design drawings using a special program for our computerized router- so costs will be higher for custom skateboard ramps. Take a look at our Custom to learn more about custom skateboard ramp designs and information.
It’s a bit like a carpenter robot. It is a machine that is capable of cutting large sheets of wood on a specialized table. The top of the table is a mechanical router that is capable of changing bit sizes and moves very quick in cutting items of wood precisely as it is set. This makes certain every incline and every drill hole is cut so accurately that the rate as well as exactness would be impossible to replicate manually.
Each Build at Home skateboard ramp kit comes with pre-cut and pre-drilled wood templates. The included easy to follow step-by-step instruction manual includes photos. These skate ramps are extremely simple to put together.
Halfpipes can be placed on grass, dirt, gravel or concrete. The surface needs to be as level as possible. Quarterpipes, launch ramps, wedge ramps, and bank ramps need to be placed on concrete, cement, or asphalt. Quarterpipes, launch ramps, wedge ramps, and bank ramps are mobile and can easily be moved in and out of the garage, driveway or your side yard.
Our ramps are built of the highest grade lumber. Your new skateboard ramp does require some basic treatment and care. For starters, coat any outdoor ramp with a Skatelite surface to ensure longevity. The use of a plastic tarp, when not in active use, is also helpful. We have clients who have had their mini ramps for over 15 years. Our skate ramps are designed for abuse from skateboarding and BMX riding, but they still need some basic and simple care.
Wooden ramps are the riding choice of top pro skaters, they simply ride better. Tony Hawk doesn’t ride plastic ramps, he rides our custom built ramps! Build at Home wood ramps are more durable, stronger, and will out last any plastic ramp.
